A parent's worst nightmare. Your daughter, or a loved one, has taken a trip to a faraway country. At first communication was consistent. Then, it stopped. This can happen for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, people get busy and forget. Other times, their phone may be stolen. In more extreme cases, some people choose not to be found. While we hope it's a case of forgetfulness, we can help to alleviate some stress. We'll go to your loved one's last known location and help you get in touch with them again. Of course, all actions will be subject to the laws and regulations of the local jurisdiction.
If it appears that your loved one no longer where you expected them to be, we can take reasonable measures to try to locate them. Here are some commone questions and answers:
I think I've lost contact with my loved one. What should I do? Fill out a contact form by clicking 'Contact' above. We'll reach out to you to ask for relevant information to get started.
What about my country's embassy? Your embassy is always a good place to start. Sometimes, however, embassies are understaffed, or there's just too much going on for them to handle your situation. They may also determine that your loved one does not want to be found, which can limit what they can do. Xygia Group can be your resource where governmental resources have gaps in capabilities.
What do I need to give you? We'll tell you. Most likely: pictures of your loved one, contact information, copies of any travel documents, last known location, etc.
Who are you sending? We draw from a large pool of former military servicemembers who have operated across the globe in all types of situations. We'll select the best person to locate your loved one based on all the circumstances. Language may be a big factor. Depending on your loved one's last location, we may have trusted local contacts who can assist in relocating them. We only deal with people we know and trust.
What if my loved on is in a dangerous situation? It depends on the situation. A common scenario is that either dangerous-looking people have stationed themselves outside a hotel, or local protests are disrupting what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. In these situations, we can escort your loved one to a safe location. That location might be an airport with a ticket home.
In more extreme scenarios, such as a kidnapping or hostage situation, local authorities need to be informed and involved. We will contact the appropriate personnel and keep you informed.
Where can you go and how fast? The timing depends in part on when you want us to go. We'll initiate movement as quickly as possible. In many cases, a visa can get us where we need to go fairly quickly. Some locations may require extended planning. We'll let you know.
